Floor preparation
Floor levelling over dense or low-absorption substrates
Preparation and levelling of a smooth, dense or low-absorption interior substrate using Super Grip followed by a 2-10 mm Hardox Flu-100 levelling layer.
Intended outcome
A smooth interior underlayment prepared with Super Grip and Hardox Flu-100, ready for a compatible floor finish.
- Substrate
- Ceramic tile
- Environment
- Interior
Confirm before starting
- Substratestable and free from dirt, oil, grease, loose or brittle material, cement or lime residue, varnish and old paint.
- Levelling thicknessHardox Flu-100 must remain within the 2-10 mm application range.
- Temperatureapply between +5°C and +30°C.
- Final floor finishcheck its moisture and preparation requirements before levelling.
Installation sequence
Adhesion primer
Super Grip
After cleaning the substrate, dilute Super Grip one part product to one part clean water for dense or poorly absorbent surfaces. Apply one coat by brush, roller or spray.
Important
- Varnish and paint must be removed completely before priming.
Floor leveller
Hardox Flu-100
Pour 5.0-5.5 L clean water into a clean container. Add one 25 kg bag of Hardox Flu-100 progressively while mixing continuously with a low-speed helical mixer. Apply by hand or pump in a 2-10 mm layer. Do not add excess water.
Timing: Allow foot traffic after approximately 3 hours, ceramic-tile covering after approximately 12 hours and parquet covering after approximately 24 hours under stated conditions.
Important
- Excess water can increase shrinkage and reduce hardness, adhesion and compressive strength.
Check residual moisture before installing parquet or PVC, and follow the final covering manufacturer's preparation requirements.

Not covered by this guide
- Highly absorbent concrete or cement screeds require BAULAT primer, which is outside the selected product range.
- Do not use this workflow for layers over 10 mm, unstable or contaminated substrates, or conditions involving rising damp.
- Hardox Flu-100 is mainly intended for indoor use; exterior or high-demand final-surface applications require technical confirmation.
